Quick REVIEW - Guerlain L'Instant D'Un Soupir and Guerlain L'Instant D'Un Baiser

These are 2 fabulous single eyeshadows that I picked from Guerlain a few months back and thought of quickly writing a review for it. This is a quick quick quick review and I shall be doing looks with these beautiful eyeshadows soon.

Ombre Eclat 1 Shade aka Single eyeshadows are beautiful glowing shimmery single eyeshadows that can be used to highlight, accent, define and smoke out on the eyes and give an incredible finish and a mesmerizing effect when used. They have some incredible shades that range from highlighting shades to defining and contouring colors. Each shade is fabulously pigmented and the amount of product provided is huge for the price that has to paid.

Lets have a look at 2 of my favorite shades - L'Instant D'Un Soupir and L'Instant D'Un Baiser....

Apply using the applicator to the entire eyelid and brow bone, depending on your desired make-up look. The brush is practical and designed for dual use: it is wide to create a "smoky" look as it applies the powder over the entire eyelid and pointed for precise application to outline the eye contour and add intensity to the eyes.

PACKAGING

Its the classic Guerlain packaging. Black box with gold print. The eyeshadows looks like little nuggets of gold to look at. Gold chips maybe. Every eyeshadow holds 3.8 gm of product which is way more affordable than a single MAC eyeshadow (in comparison with quantity). The golden case holds the eyeshadow pan, a tiny mirror and small applicator in the clam-shell like design.

L'Instant D'Un Soupir

This single eyeshadow is a beautiful dark minky brown with beige-gold intertwined shimmer with some taupe peeking through. It doesn't look like a typical cool bronze. It has some character to it. The color is darker in person that what is captured on camera and can be a bit misleading. The formula is very shimmery, incredibly pigmented, soft in texture without any grittiness, blends well, is long lasting even without a primer. Being a cooler color its a fabulous color for creating transitional smokey eyes, a quintessential day wear eyeshadow when worn on its own and looks amazing on all eye colors. Application

• With a MAC 217 brush - apply on the entire lids and softly blend into the crease for a quick and easy smokey eye
• With a MAC 219 pencil brush - smoke out on a brown or a black eye pencil at the lash lines
• With a MAC 224 crease brush - smoke and soften the edges of a darker and harsher eyeshadow on the lid

L'Instant D'Un Baiser

This is a light beige shimmer that goes on smoothly and adds subtle or dramatic accents to an eye makeup or even on the face. With a whopping 3.8 gm eyeshadow, this could also double up as a face highlighter and last forever. The texture is smooth, the slip of the eyeshadow is excellent, it translates into a much warmer beige ivory color on the skin (on my peach toned skin) and gives excellent highlights. The shimmer is more of a frost and it may look like an icing on the cake (LOL). Its a highlight that I'd normally go for and it looks good in all lights. 

APPLICATION

• With MAC 217 - Apply as an all over color on the lid. It opens up the eyes and looks very classy when paired with a feline flick.
• With MAC 219 - Apply as a precise brow bone highlighter or in the inner corners to open up the eyes for a wide eyed look. Its a great accent color and brightens up a smokey eye.
• With MAC 252 - Apply as a proper brow bone highlighter and on the centre of the lids to catch light and create a 3 D effect.
• With a Shiseido Blush Brush - Subtly dust as a highlighter on the highlight areas of the face. The fluffier the brush, the subtle is the dispersing of the formula.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

These are quite running shades and Guerlain keeps on reinventing their formulas and collections every year. They are available at 2150 INR for 3.8 gm on selected Guerlain counters all over the country.
