Tropical Sunset.....

For this look, I was inspired by the color from a picturesque tropical sunset. I always had this look in my mind but wasnt able to find the right colors to execute it. This moment finally came when I got my lovely Tom Ford Cognac Sable palette and this look pulled through better.

Although the upper image is a bit dramatized and edited, this is the unedited version cropped directly from the picture taken by my camera Canon Ixus 220 HS (It is basic but takes better pictures than so many DLSRs. Its not the camera, its the lighting that is important too).

Beautiful Tropical Sunset

Mainly the colors in this look are turquoise, persian blue, copper, brown, warm beige gold and a tint of black to add definition. So lets see, how to do this look.....

Tarte Amazonian Treasures - Some small and sweet delights......

This is a quick review of goodies that I got in this bag yesterday. While browsing through a shop called 'Beautiful' in Mumbai, I saw some really amazing products. This caught my eye especially because of the Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush in Exposed and the small teensy size of Maracuja Oil (that I was literally dying to try). I bought this at a small price of 750 INR and its totally worth it....

To the newbies who may not know Tarte cosmetics, its an eco friendly brand making cutting edge products that have their raw materials originated from the South America. Their products are free from parabens, tricolsan, mineral oils, pthalates, sodium laureth sulphate and synthetic fragrances.

The Description.

Since I have used some Tarte products before, these were the ones that really excited me.

In the goodie bag I got,

  1. Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara - mini size
  2. Amazonian Clay  Waterproof eyeshadow in Soft plum
  3. Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder
  4. Amazonian Clay 12 hr blush in Exposed
  5. Pure Maracuja oil - deluxe sample size
Are't these beautiful??

The Pure Maracuja Oil (taken from the seeds of Passion Fruit, a native of South America) known for its brightening properties is on the top of my wish list and will soon get it.

Hope you liked this small quick review. Do let me know in the comments.

Till then,

Ciao

Sepia Tones

This is the eye makeup tutorial that follows the previous review of Stila's Countless Color eyeshadow in Groupie.

Such an amazing eyeshadow this is. The colors are so intense and beautiful. Thence the effect is mesmerizing and magical.

I decided the name 'Sepia' because if you are into photography you would understand how these colors look like in the SEPIA mode of the camera. There is a red brown toned warmth in the pictures and this is what I wanted to create in the real life. Pairing this warm eye with a warm red lipstick is what makes the look magical and extremely sensual.

So lets see how to do this look............

Review : Stila Countless Color Pigments in Groupie

I just got this fabulous product from Stila called 'Countless Color Pigments' in the safest shade I could choose which  is GROUPIE. Fascinated by the art of mixing a lot of colors in one palette, makes this eyeshadow palette a fantastic and a complete one and thence solve most of the problems. These colors looks as if they are pictures of different planets taken from satellites and Groupie looks very much like Jupiter. Once upon a time MAC Mineralize Eyeshadows did have a color Jupiter () but I returned it in Back-to-MAC as it caught fungus.

I couldn't believe when Stila claimed that all this handpressed. Now does it look like MAC Mineralize Eyeshadows? Or does it look as complex as Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill eyeshadow? Lets see ....

Vibrant Smokes : YSL Pure Chromatics Eyeshadow Palette no.06

Every time I do a tutorial I feel its the best one till today..Do you also feel so?
Well for this one...I really had to struggle. The eyeshadow quad from YSL Pure Chromatics is genius but trying to procure it was one of the most difficult and time consuming tasks. Sometimes good things do take time to come and this one really did.

I am not doing a review per se and just incorporating the colors in the tutorial. Although this palette can be used Wet or Dry, I think it works better when its dry for me.

The colors of this palette blend so well with each other that they almost look like a glass painting with the sun shining over...Very poetic...
When used dry these eyeshadows give that Enid Blyton Pixie Dust like effect and suddenly metamorphose into a highly reflective metallic foil when used wet. I can imagine a technology like this although there are very few launches in India right now. When compared with Estee Lauder Cyber Metallic eyeshadows, the YSL ones turn out to be plush and richer.

Anyways..lets see how to do this look....(there is a small review in this tutorial)

Soft and Beautiful Smokey eye

I couldn't think a perfect name for this tutorial so just called it something simple and beautiful. Makeup does not have rules (and the rules made are always to be broken). Its always important to experiment, do something extra ordinary (however simple it is) and still stand out from the rest.

Trust me, its not easy to do a simple makeup....

This look is about being fast and yet getting effortless results. There is nothing about perfection in the look yet it appears so picture perfect. Softly blended makeup appeals to everyone and does make a statement (I hope we see such days too) and adds empowerment to the persona. Anyways, talking about all this, lets get to the making of this look............

REAL TECHNIQUES by SAMANTHA CHAPMAN.....pink brushes...

In the last part of the REAL TECHNIQUES Brush Series, I am going to review the 'PINK' Brushes which are the brush for highlighting and contouring in general. I love the color of these handles (rather long ferrules) which are metallic fuchsia and they remind of the Urban Decay eyeshadows. Their bristles are soft taklon brushes that are hand cut and cruelty free (to animals and not humans). The brushes are sturdy, stand on their base and are just more than perfect (except the stippling brush).

These brushes are all sold separately except the 'Multi-task' brush which is a part of the Travel Essentials. Well I bought all of mine from the www.iherb.com website and paid a hell lot of money to get them shipped here all thanks to the weird DHL couriers...but I dont regret for the face geniuses that I have invested in.

So lets have a looksie at these brushes....

REAL TECHNIQUES by SAMANTHA CHAPMAN.....White and Black brushes....

In the third article of Real Techniques Brushes by Samantha Chapman I shall be highlighting the White (Duo fiber brushes) and the Black (Kabuki) brush. Real Techniques could be called as one of the best brushes in the market and is a must have for everyone. This is because it takes out the doubts of investing in high quality brushes and performs just the same or sometimes even better than the conventional brushes that brands have.

I am sure with a furore amongst bloggers and makeup artists alike, these would definitely win an award somewhere and would make Samantha and Nichola Chapman to be some of the finest makeup artists on the planet.

While I review these brushes one must also know that the duo fiber brushes are LIMITED EDITION so if in case you like the review you know what you have to do pronto. Also the links that I shall me mentioning in the post are not affiliate links and meant for guiding a buyer. So lets have a look at these lovely black and while brushes.
