Splinters by the Fireplace.............

This look is inspired from the splinters at a fireplace during the cold days of Christmas. This is an amazing and bedazzling smokey eye and fits the mesmerizing Christmas evening or the Christmas dinner.

Paired with a red lip this could be the most covetable looks for Christmas. I have used the Urban Decay Smoked Palette to create this lovely look.

Conceal the under eyes. Since I am experiencing a lot of dryness on the face, please do not mind the shrivelled skin under eyes (I forgot the under eye cream). To illuminate the eyes subtly I have used Guerlain Meteorites Pressed Powder in Nacre Des Mers. Curl the lashes with MAC eye lash curler and tame and fill the brows with Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Backdoor.

Prime the lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion. This will help the shadows hold true and stay put for a longer time.

Apply UD Freestyle eyeshadow on the entire lid upto the brow bone. This is a soft neutral color that creates more evenness on the lids.

Line the upper lash line with Urban Decay pencil in Perversion and quickly smudge with pencil eyeshadow brush to avoid any drying as it has a lesser 'play time'.

Apply a candy pink shimmer from the Guerlain Rose Boise Quad under the brow bone to highlight and lift the area.

Subtly define the crease with Urban Decay Backdoor  eyeshadow. Since this blackened brown eyeshadow is so uber pigmented, a little goes a long way.

Apply UD Blackout on the outer corners and blend it into the outer crease.

With a flat eyeshadow brush, pack on UD Barlust eyeshadow on the entire middle and inner third of the lid. This eyeshadow is incredibly frosted coppery bronze and look like fire splinters.

Apply UD Asphalt on the outer corners. Since this grey is a bit muted and gritty to apply, I used it over a black shadow base to give it more body. The silver shimmer in the eyeshadow does reflect light well over a black shadow. Apply Asphalt in the entire crease and blend upto the brow bone.

On the lower lid, apply the eyeshadows as marked in the picture and smoke them out by blending the edges.

For a sparkly effect apply a golden coppery glitter from the Guerlain Bronze Dore quad in the inner corners and on the middle of the lid using fingers.

Trace the upper lash line thinly with UD Perversion liner and blend with an angled brush.

Line the inner rims of the lower lids with Perversion and blend into the shadows. Curl lashes again and apply 2-3 coats of Clinique High Impact Extreme mascara for super volumized lashes.

To make the look more and more luminous, I used a luminizing powder to create soft focus highlights. The lovely Guerlain Meteorites Press Powder in Nacres Des Mers creates this lovely veil of color over Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer. Either go vibrant with Guerlain's Kiss Kiss Lipstick in Insolence De Rouge Or Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Party Red OR go for coral colors like Dior Rouge Addict in Riviera OR opt for softer pinks like Guerlain Rouge Automatique Flirt D'Un Jour. I would also recommend going metallic on lips but thats not my taste.
